Nano Electronics
Dr. Satheesh Krishnamurthy
Research Officer
Dublin City University, Ireland
Profile: Dr. Satheesh Krishnamurthy is an experimental physicist with research interest in several fields in Nanomaterials processing and characeterisation. He completed his PhD from the Newcastle University in 2004. During his PhD he worked on the Electronic and optical properties of the Nanostructured systems. One of this thesis work on the novel nanostructured metal nitride received significant interest in the materials world http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/tyne/3205959.stm, http://physicsworld.com/cws/article/news/18469 and also in THE HINDU . Following his PhD, he held the position of postdoctoral fellow and senior research fellow at both school of Physics and also at Centre for Research on Adaptive Nanostructures, Trinity College Dublin. During this period he expanded his research work on understanding the origin of ferromagnetic systems of Dilute Magnetic Semiconductors, growth of carbon nanotubes on patterned substrates for device applications, metal nanoparticles as template for nanotube growth etc., He also used/uses various synchrotron radiation facilities around the world, such as Max-lab, Sweden, Advanced Light Source, Berkeley, US, NSLS , US , Diamond UK etc for the characterisation of Nanomaterials for various applications., He is currently working as a research officer at National Centre for Plasma Science and Technology and RINCE, Dublin City University Ireland. He is one of the Integrated Nanoscience Platform for Ireland, sponsored research officer working on the interdisciplinary areas on nanophotonics and nanoelectronics and bioelectronics. He has 2 patents and over 30 publications in high impact factor journals
