Dr. Rinti Banerjee

Profile: Dr. Rinti Banerjee is a Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the Department of Biosciences & Bioengineering, and the Centre for Research in Nanotechnology and Science, Indian Institute of Technology - Bombay. She has an MBBS from Pune, and a PhD from IIT Bombay. She did her postdoctoral at the University of California, San Francisco and joined IIT Bombay as a faculty in 2001. Her research interests are in translational nanomedicine and she has published over 90 international papers in this area including invited editorials and books. She has been honored by the Indo-American Frontiers of Engineering Award 2010, Annual Felicitation Award from the Society for Cancer Research and Communications, 2008 and many young scientist awards from the International Foundation of Science, Sweden, DAE, DST and AICTE Career Award for Young Teachers. She is a member of the editorial board of international journals like Drug Delivery and Translational Research, Biomaterials and Biodevices and has many patented technologies to her credit.
