  • Doctorate (Technology) of Calcutta University,
  • Qualified Lead Assessor: C.I.I. - Cranfield University (U.K.) Joint Programme in 1992.
  • Working experience of more than 28 years covering Industry/ Research/ Teaching & Training.
  • Experience cover working as R&D and Quality Control In-charge/ R&D Manager/ Manager Technical Cell/ Advisor (R&D/ Technical) with Indian Rayon and Industries Limited (Unit: Jayashree Textiles, Rishra, West Bengal) during the period 1983-2000 covering R&D and Quality Assurance/ Management of Worsted & Linen spinning also.
  • Prior to above worked with The Century Spinning and Manufacturing Co. Ltd. and The Finley Mills Ltd., Mumbai as R&D Assistant during the period 1975- 1979.
  • From 1979 to 1983 worked with SASMIRA (Silk and Art Silk Mills Research Association, Mumbai) as Lecturer/ Scientist/ In-charge, Technology Division. Wherein in academic curricula Jutes, woollen and worsted spinning part had also been handled.
  • Liaison: Experience with Government, UNDP, National & International organizations (like IIT, TRA’S IWMF, IWS, WRONZ, WTO, T.I. Manchester (UK) etc.).
  • Visited many countries as an expert member, includes, Govt. of India delegation.
  • Ex-Roster expert, International Trade Centre (UNCTAD/ WTO), Switzerland.
  • Member, Review Committee, ACIAR, Canberra, Australia
  • Member, All India Handicrafts Board, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India.
Achievement of IICT:
  • All available students of IICT has been placed well in the industry. This added one more feather to IICT Crown in this critical time of global recession.
  • Integration of Advances in Carpet Technology, Home Textiles Technology and Textile Designing Technology as specialization to the existing BTech course in Carpet & Textile Technology has been introduced considering the need of industry.
  • Permanent affiliation of UPTU: After putting a long effort by Director & his team IICT obtained Permanent affiliation of UPTU on 19-01-2009 w.e.f. 01-07-2008 which is another feather in the cap of IICT.
  • More than 40 include publication in International Journals like Textile Asia, Melliand Textile Berichte, AATCC.

  1. Two patents (311/KOL/2004) & (803/KOL/2004) filed on 10.06.2004 and 08.12.2004 titling "New Polymer Sheet and method of backing carpet or such thick fabric material with the new polymer sheet” & "A Machine for backing carpet" respectively in credit.
  2. One patent also filed on "India Knot".
  3. One copyright being filed on "CARPCOST Software – Tool for Cost Control".
  4. One patent filed on the title "India Knot"
